Jobs
First of all I would like to leave here my condolences to Steve Job's family, and let it be clear that without him many things which are available for us, in many areas of technology, wouldn't be here today, and I believe that for that reason alone he already deserves some respect, rest in peace Steve.
Freesound
That being said, we continue here on earth trying to manage our own creative lives, sometimes having to deal with copyright issues, sometimes not, this time something interesting happened and it's called freesound.org

Freesound
That being said, we continue here on earth trying to manage our own creative lives, sometimes having to deal with copyright issues, sometimes not, this time something interesting happened and it's called freesound.org
The Freesound Project started on April 2005 and is maintained by some people affiliated to the Music Technology Group and developers worldwide. The site has been recently reissued with a cool modern look and freshness to it.
Freesound.org is a huge repository of sounds, thousands of them, which are all licensed under Creative Commons and are free to download.
The database is made by people who, for example, have an interesting sound and want to upload it, the individual interested should simply create a free account, log in and do it.
Check out the website for more info and for some really crazy stuff and nice samples for your own personal database and projects.
Copyright
Read here a very polemic ruling of the U.S.A. supreme court regarding Copyright laws and download of musical material, and take your own conclusions.
